Difference between Granulocytes and Agranulocytes

 Granulocytes vs. Agranulocytes

Many types of cell are present in the body that have their functioning. The various cell controls  and performs various kinds of mechanisms in different parts of the body. Some of them are related to oxygen availability, some of these are known for their fighting capacity, and some simply bring food from one place to other in the whole system.

Granulocyte vs. Agranulocyte.

The blood consists of white blood cells, red cells and the platelets. The white ones have the duty to fight off the foreign bodies that enter the bloodstream and tend to destroy them as well. They are divided on the basis of exact working mechanism that they follow. They have different jobs, but they are mostly confused with each other.

The granulocytes

This many cells can be easily differentiated from any others due to the shape and the color of these. These are present in the stream and have the color due to a pigment known as Wright’s stain which gives them a particular unique color. They are further divided into three types that include the basophils, the eosinophil and the neutrophils. These are found in the bone marrow.

These have cells that have the nuclei with several lobes, and they fight off the foreign bodies. They do this by the help of phagocytosis in which these eat off the foreign subjects by ingesting them and then disposing of off the proteins in the stream for nutrition.

Granulocyte

The Esocinophins increase when there is a chance of infection or cold for an individual. The Basophils increase when there is a need of an inflammatory process to fight off diseases.

The Agranulocytes

The Agranulocytes are also very much important for the defense of the body against the harmful effects. It takes two types of this white cell to prevent any damage. The cells that are included in this type are Monocyte and the Lymphocytes. Unlike granulocytes, they do not have any granules in them nor do they have any specific color.

These are though the biggest of the white blood cell in terms of size as compared to other kinds. This help in the phagocytosis of the deal cell that is accumulated in the body. The lymphocytes are other types of this kind. They are further divided into two types known as the T and B lymphocytes.

The Granulocytes are made in the bone marrow while, on the other hand, the Agranulocytes emerge from the lymphoid.
Both have different jobs; the former one has three types while the later one has two.
The former has granules, but the later one do not.
The first one makes up the 70 percent of white blood cells while the second one makes 30 percent of the whole.

    I am sorry but this is completely wrong. No haematologist uses the expression agranulocyte. It is best to think about the lymphoid lineage and the granulocyte/monocyte (myeloid) lineage. Monocytes are not at all related to lymphocytes. If a monocyte is well stained it shows granules.
